GameVault Storage & Cache Explained
What is safe to clear, and the one option that signs you out.
Why an App Grows Over Time
The install you first downloaded is not the size the app stays. Game assets — reel art, fish room graphics, sound — are pulled down as you play, so an app that started small can be noticeably larger after a few weeks. That is normal behaviour, not a fault.
Cache Versus Data — The Distinction That Matters
On Android these are two separate things, and confusing them is how people accidentally sign themselves out.
| What it holds | Safe to clear? | |
|---|---|---|
| Cache | Downloaded assets the app can fetch again | Yes — it re-downloads what it needs |
| App data | Settings and your signed-in session | Only if you have your credentials to hand |
Clear cache is the safe option. Clear data (or "clear storage") resets the app to a fresh install and will sign you out. That is recoverable — you sign back in with your username and PIN — but only if you actually have them. Make sure of that first; the security guide explains where to keep them.
On iPhone
iOS does not expose a per-app cache button. The equivalent is offloading or deleting and reinstalling the app, which means installing the build again from your agent. Because that is a heavier operation, try the lighter fixes in quick fixes before reaching for it.
When Low Storage Is Actually the Problem
Phones behave badly when nearly full, and the symptoms rarely say "low storage" — you see slow loading, failed updates, or games that will not open. If your device is close to capacity, that is worth ruling out before assuming the app is broken. Deleting a few large videos usually frees more space than anything you can do inside the app.
What Clearing Cache Does Not Fix
Being clear about this saves time. Clearing cache does not fix login failures, does not resolve a server-side outage, and will not change your balance. If you cannot sign in, see login problems. If the game will not load at all, server down covers how to tell whether the issue is on your side.
A Sensible Order to Try Things
- Restart the phone. Genuinely fixes more than it should.
- Check free storage; clear space elsewhere if the device is nearly full.
- Clear the app cache (Android).
- Only then consider clearing data or reinstalling — with your credentials to hand.
- Still stuck? Message support on WhatsApp, Telegram or Messenger.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will clearing the cache delete my account or balance?
No. Cache holds downloadable assets. Your account and balance live with the account, not on the device.
What is the difference between clear cache and clear data?
Cache is safe to clear and re-downloads. Clearing data resets the app and signs you out, so only do it if you have your username and PIN.
Why does the app keep getting bigger?
Game assets download as you play more titles. Growth over time is normal rather than a sign of a problem.
